Description

Inspect, analyze and evaluate property to determine risk and insurability. Typically work within an assigned area/district.

Essential Functions:

  • Physically inspect, analyze and evaluate property for value, condition and exposure purposes.
  • Participate in audit, reinspection and reunderwriting programs.
  • Assist agency force in obtaining and purchasing coverage for high risk exposures within reinsurance market.
  • Depict findings in photography and complete reports of discovery from inspections.
  • Accompany Agents on insured appointments; evaluating and identifying exposures when and where requested.
  • Assist in training of agency force.
  • Monitor treaty exceptions (varies by state).

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Attend various meetings, conferences and training seminars when and where required.
  • Overnight travel to assigned county offices/agencies is required as needed.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Qualifications

Experience

Required:

Successful completion of Field Underwriter Trainee program

Preferred:

3-5 years:
Underwriting and/or Claims experience
