Internship – Underwriting (Homeowners)

The professionals of Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance Company have been dedicated to providing quality and comprehensive insurance to the state of Colorado since 1951.  We pride ourselves on our service to our insured in both rural and urban parts of the state.

As an Underwriting Intern, you will learn the ins and outs of underwriting various products within Homeowners, rating, and analysis.  Spending 15-20 hours per week with our Underwriting staff, you will gain experience in a variety of settings which may include rating, analyzing workflows, testing, verifying documents, and conversion migration.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite Homeowners products HO2, HO3, HO4, HO5, & HO6 in the test environment verifying that the system is working correctly. Flagging any discrepancies/errors and reporting those to the Testing Coordinator.
  • Verify Rating on the new HO product lines
  • Analyze and verify the workflow for the new system, identifying any user issues and reporting those to the Testing Coordinator.
  • Analyze and verify document creation
  • Analyze and verify conversion migration as accurate and report any discrepancies

Education and Experience:

  • Junior or senior pursuing a four-year degree in Risk Management or Business or related field preferred.
