The Ronald McDonald House has served communities across the United States and around the world, since 1974. Ronald McDonald House is known for providing a comfortable place for families to stay while their loved ones receive care. They also provide resources such as health care to families whose children are ill. Furthermore, Family Rooms within the hospital and Mobile Care are also provided. The Ronald McDonald House helps millions of families each year, but they can’t do it alone.
One of the opportunities available to the community to assist Ronald McDonald House is by serving breakfast, lunch, or dinner for the families. When these families are away from their homes, sometimes hundreds of miles away, they don’t have the resources to make meals. A group of Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance employees, including our CEO, recently cooked and served a breakfast for the families.
What a pleasure it was to meet the parents and children who stay there and to learn a little about them. Some were new arrivals while others had been there for several weeks or months. In addition, Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance donated a set of tickets to a Colorado Rockies game to be raffled off to a family at the Ronald McDonald House. One lucky family got a night out at the game and a break from their day-to-day worries.
A History of Community Involvement
Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance, serving Colorado for over 60 years, has a long history of community involvement. With offices throughout the state, our agents and employees regularly participate in community activities. Employees donate toys and volunteer at the Denver Santa Claus Shop. We also participate in an annual canned goods donation for The Food Bank of the Rockies. Additionally, donated clothing was provided for both Dress for Success and Urban Peak. More recently, Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance donated 30 computers and monitors to Colorado I Have a Dream Foundation (CIHADF). The company also hosted a group of CIHADF children for a “suite” experience at a Colorado Rockies game.
