Attend the 30th Annual Cherry Creek Festival

After its COVID-19 hiatus last year, Denver’s award-winning Cherry Creek Arts Festival returns in 2021 to celebrate its 30th anniversary (a little later on the calendar, but with its same expansive presence).

New Festival Dates Due to COVID-19

In the interest of public safety, the festival, which draws nearly 350,000 visitors annually and has been ranked “the nation’s number one outdoor arts festival,” is postponing its traditional July date and moving to a three-day Labor Day weekend appearance on September 4, 5, and 6.

New Venue: Cherry Creek Shopping Center

The event will also relocate to a different location directly across from its traditional home in Cherry Creek North to the creek side of Cherry Creek Shopping Center, across First Avenue. The move will allow for social distancing and capacity requirements.

History of the Festival

The growth and popularity of the annual festival in Denver’s upscale Cherry Creek neighborhood has skyrocketed since its debut in 1991, earning it the label of “a renowned international arts event” by at least one neighborhood leader. With a volunteer program with as many as 1,000 participants and a record of strong sponsorship loyalty, its reputation continues to spread among Coloradans and beyond. In fact, the festival has won more than 100 International Festivals and Events Association awards over the past 30 years for highest overall quality in event programming, content, promotional programs, and marketing materials.

Cherry Creek Festival Programming

The family-friendly three-day festival features 220 artist exhibitors (who were juried into the 2020 event) offering their original artworks directly to patrons. The unique setting allows visitors opportunities to meet and chat with exceptional artists from around the country. Artist categories will include glass, ceramics, photography, mixed media, paintings, sculpture, fiber, jewelry, drawing, and printmaking.

Art activities for all ages will include daily live musical performances, onstage visual and performance stages presenting a wide range of entertainment, immersive art experiences, and incredible food and drinks by some of Denver’s best culinary experts.

As festival plans are still emerging, organizers encourage potential visitors to check CherryArts and subscribe to the Cherry Creek Festival’s newsletter to receive email updates about the festival.
