Take Advantage of the Child-Saver Program for Convertible Car Seat Discount

Learn and Save During Baby Safety Month

September is Baby Safety Month! This is a great time for parents to brush up on how to safely select and use many baby products. This month-long recognition is sponsored annually by the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA). Their website is packed with educational safety and prevention information for parents and caregivers.

Children and Automobile Safety

Automobile accidents are recognized as the leading cause of death among children from age one to four. Therefore, a safe car seat is one of the most important pieces of equipment parents-to-be can acquire for their newborn.

At Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance, we make it a priority to provide on-the-road protection for your family—and not only through auto insurance. Each of our policyholders is eligible to participate in the Child-Saver Program. This plan allows members to purchase a safe new Cosco Touriva 5-Point Car Seat at the greatly reduced cost of only $30—a discount of more than 50 percent off the retail price.

Cosco Touriva 5-Point Car Seat Features

This convertible seat can be adjusted to change as your child grows and includes the following features:

  • New latch belt system for forward- and rear-facing use
  • Rear-facing for infants five to 35 pounds, forward-facing for toddlers 22-40 pounds
  • Five-point harness system with one-piece harness retainer and up-front adjustment
  • Option to install with vehicle belts
  • Large belt path openings that accommodate big buckles

  • Front-facing
  • Booster seat

How to Order Your Car Seat

Contact your local agent, or fill out the attached order form and submit it to the address included.

Installing Your New Car Seat

Once you receive your new car seat, the most important next step is making sure it is properly installed days or even weeks ahead of your baby’s expected arrival. To ensure that you will be bringing your baby home safely, take time to check your vehicle’s owner’s manual as well as the directions that come with the seat itself for guidance on proper installation.

Once you have installed your car seat and would like to make sure it’s been safely fitted in your vehicle, or if you need some aid with the process, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration operates local inspection stations to help. Find a station near you by typing in your city and state or your ZIP code at their site. (This is a lengthy site; you will have to scroll down a long way!)
